My approach to therapy focuses on building the therapeutic relationship and supporting each client with an individualized treatment plan to support their needs. I am a trauma-focused therapist and believe presenting problems that bring people to therapy are rooted in earlier experiences.
My approach
I primarily use Mindfulness and Brainspotting as a modality for healing, though I am trained in EMDR, family systems, TF-CBT, DBT, and CBT.
My focus
Brainspotting is a gentle yet effective neurobiological approach to treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic disorder, PTSD, attachment wounds, etc. I specialize in working with severe and complex PTSD, including, but not limited to, those with a history of childhood abuse and neglect, those who have been impacted by natural disasters, and those with toxic stress.
My communication style
My education and personal life experience provides me with a multicultural lens focused on compassion, acceptance, and curiosity. I was raised in Mexico before moving to California; I am fluent in both Spanish and English. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally as well as knowledgeable about a variety of spiritual and religious belief systems, including Christianity and Buddhism.
