Hi there, I'm Arthur!

Arthur Bilbrey, LMFT, CCTP-II
Licensed Remote Clinician | Certified Clinical Trauma Professional I’m a dedicated and highly experienced mental health professional with a proven track record of profoundly transforming lives through carefully crafted, evidence-based therapeutic practices. Specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD, I bring discipline and unwavering commitment to my therapeutic approach, which is deeply influenced by my extensive training and experience. With so much specialized training—like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II)—I've got acronyms practically bulging out of my ears, and that’s just a few of them!

My approach

I’ve been fully trained in EMDR by EMDRIA and hold CCTP-II certification as part of my extensive training in trauma therapy. I’ve also completed 38 hours of specialized workshops in ACT. My approach thoughtfully integrates a broad range of therapeutic influences to carefully tailor treatments that effectively address a variety of unique mental health challenges. I’m committed to offering specialized treatments that empower clients to process traumatic memories, reduce the emotional impact of trauma, and stay grounded in the present moment. My integrated approach includes: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Mindfulness techniques Family systems theory Motivational interviewing Psychodynamic therapy This approach fosters a deeper sense of inner calm and resilience, helping clients reclaim their lives and thrive.

My focus

I have extensive and valuable experience treating a diverse population, including: Veterans and active-duty military personnel Teens and adults LGBTQ individuals People from various cultural backgrounds My primary focus is on compassionately helping clients: Heal from trauma Skillfully mend attachment wounds Find happiness in relationships they once thought impossible Cultivate inner peace These transformations are a result of fostering a deeper connection to "self as context," an ACT concept attempting to describe you as an unfathomable mystery that is beyond thoughts, trauma, and emotions.

My communication style

I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel truly heard and genuinely understood. I listen attentively, focusing on what my clients say to ensure they feel valued and respected. While maintaining a professional approach, I believe that a touch of humor, when used thoughtfully, can help build rapport and ease tension. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable and safe, allowing them to now openly share their thoughts and feelings.

My journey to mental healthcare

My enduring passion for mental health began long before I pursued formal education in psychology. While serving as a Gunner's Mate in the U.S. Navy, I became increasingly fascinated by the intricacies of the human mind and how we can optimize mental well-being. My journey started with personal explorations into mindfulness and the works of Jungian psychoanalyst Dr. Robert Moore, alongside strategies for overcoming challenges like bullying and unfair social dynamics. Over time, I’ve continued to expand my knowledge, integrating practices like meditation to foster positive change both personally and professionally.

My goals for you

I believe that most clients already have a clear sense of what they want to achieve in therapy—they just need someone to help clarify and prioritize their goals. My goal is to listen, support, and skillfully guide you toward identifying the most meaningful and actionable goals based on your specific challenges and symptoms. I also aim to help you identify your core values and live a life free from fear, guilt, and shame. My vision is to create a therapeutic environment where you feel empowered to: Discover your innermost self Break free from past traumas Live authentically with courage and peace Through our work together, I balance attentive listening with skillfully revealing your hidden potential, helping you now take the next steps in your journey.

My first session with you

In our first session together, you can expect a warm, attentive professional who is deeply committed to truly understanding the challenges you’re facing. I believe that effective therapy begins with truly listening, and I dedicate my full attention to making sure you feel seen, heard, and supported. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can now explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment.
