Hi there, I'm Audrey. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with adolescents, adults, and couples for over 40 years with diverse issues. I use an eclectic approach that includes attachment, psychodynamic, emotionally focused therapy, mindfulness, spirituality, and other evidence-based approaches to help individuals through practice prepare for life's many challenges.
My approach
My approach is nurturing, nonjudgmental, and straightforward. Through processing thoughts, feelings, and ideas collaboratively it is my hope that you will gain awareness, clarity, rid yourself of falsely conceived constructs you may have attached to, and alleviate thinking patterns that have been causing pain and suffering. With this new insight, and practice you can better prepare for life's challenges by developing resilience, self-compassion, and healthy coping strategies so that you can live a life filled with peace and joy.
My focus
My focus is client-centered, one where mutual respect and trust are gained. I work collaboratively. Together we will work towards the goals that you want to achieve in order to create change. Using an eclectic approach that includes attachment, psychodynamic, humanistic, mindfulness, spirituality, and other evidence-based approaches, I will help you tap into your inner resources. Together we will discover all that you are capable of along with the power that lies within you. By becoming aware of your strengths and potential you can find your voice and create positive change so that you become the creator of endless possibilities.
My communication style
My style is gentle, non-judgmental, and straightforward. I work collaboratively and enjoy engaging with others so that a trusting, caring, and respectful relationship is built where positive change is created.
My journey to mental healthcare
Life can be complicated, unpredictable and overwhelming at times. Like anyone else, I too have experienced challenges. It is through these challenges that I have learned through the therapeutic relationship and process that there is power in pain if we deal with it. There is a way forward, if we identify, endure, and face the feeling in our core that can ultimately lead to wisdom, compassion, and positive change. Therapy is a gift to the self. It is one that takes courage and commitment. Understanding that you have the power to change, find your voice and not let life just happen is priceless. It is my passion to empower others on their unique journey of self-discovery and healing as they learn to pause, gain perspective, reflect, and examine behaviors that are not serving them well.
My goals for you
My approach is client-centered. I work collaboratively with you to identify and work towards meaningful goals that you wish to achieve.
My first session with you
It is understandable that the first sessions can feel intimidating. I like to develop a rapport with my client. First sessions are an opportunity for the Client and Therapist to begin to build the relationship, get a sense of one another, and see if it's a right fit. Typically Clients and I will discuss the issues that have brought them to therapy, their long-term goals as well as what their expectations of a Therapist are.
