I specialize in treating individual adults with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Over the years, people have sought my services to cope more effectively with various stressors which are affecting their daily lives, including concerns in the home, work, and social settings, low self-esteem, and phase of life challenges. I have helped many people learn how to set boundaries, speak to a neutral party about difficult issues, explore themselves, discuss life transitions, gain insight, end unproductive patterns, accept themselves, and discover how life experiences have impacted them.
My approach
As we begin treatment, you and I will create a working alliance based on respect, trust, and comfort. I have taken my training, education, and experience seriously, which has helped to bolster my natural aptitudes for empathy, communication, and professionalism. In my view, therapy has 3 major and interrelated components- healing, problem-solving, and growth. With this, entering therapy is an important life decision, and I will never lose sight of that in our treatment.
My focus
In my practice, I aim to work with individual adults who are high functioning in their lives and who are motivated to engage in therapy to gain self-awareness, reflect on the past and the past's effects on current symptoms and relationships, and improve the quality of their lives overall. These clients are intelligent, motivated, insightful, and aware of their mental health symptoms while being open to receiving therapeutic support.
My communication style
I am attentive, grounded, motivated, prepared, and responsive. I am an active listener and engage during sessions with my clients, including offering clinical feedback, reflections, and interventions. I am genuine and authentic, and I regularly use humor with my clients.
