Hello, My name is Trisha Graves and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) license #83008. I work with adolescents on challenges they face regularly with school, family, or friends. I primarily use talk therapy.
My approach
My therapy can vary, as I want to work in a way the client is most comfortable with (humanistic approach), but I often find using CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) works well with teens.
My focus
I work with youth struggling with family conflict, depression, anxiety, having difficulty with school, especially with organization, as well as teens who may be suicidal or who self-harm. Teen years can be difficult and I want to offer coping skills and new ideas on how to cope and manage the challenges you may face.
My communication style
My work with clients is focused on what they want to work on and what is most important to them. I feel it is a privilege to work with teenagers and gain their trust to support them to a happier, more successful life. I look forward to having an opportunity to work with you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have worked in social services for 21 years, 11 years with adolescents. I have worked with severe mental illness, drug and alcohol treatment, and adolescents in crisis and have completed 5150 assessments.
My goals for you
Goals are set by the client and then methods to achieve those goals are planned. It is up to the client to try various methods and see what works best for them.
My first session with you
During the first session, a client should expect to feel comfortable to talk about their interests and their lives. I am interested in learning who the client is and what makes them unique. There may be some information exchanged about what brings them to counseling, but the session is casual and client-focused.
