My name is Alex Rossman. I have been an LCSW clinician for 25 years. I believe in kindness, respect, and helping others understand that we all have issues in life. Instead of the impossible task of trying to be perfect, I think it’s important to be proactive rather than just being reactive, something which leads challenges to feel like struggles in life.
My approach
I believe in working as a team and treating clients as equals. I want them to feel comfortable telling me what works for them and what doesn’t while we have our sessions. Therapy is about you and you should ask for what you need. My modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), family systems, mindfulness-focused, and eclectic therapy.
My focus
18-90-year-olds for individual, couples, and family therapy. In family therapy, I work with families with young kids, teens, and adult children. I work with people who have mood issues (anxiety, depression, Bipolar), OCD, family/marital issues, school/work concerns, inner childhood with adults, and general life concerns.
My communication style
I treat each client individually. I’m an interactive therapist so if you ask me a question, I will do my best to answer it rather than put it back on you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have had OCD since I was 7 years old. I felt like there was something wrong with me and misunderstood by the clinicians that I saw.
My first session with you
The first session will be for an assessment, which is where you will be asked a range of questions to help you and your practitioner understand your current problems and what direction therapy should go.
