In my practice as a therapist, I use the research on what works to help my clients get the outcomes they want: better relationships, manage anxiety, less depression, and more control over life.
My approach
My approach as a therapist is multidisciplinary, drawing on my previous experience coaching and educating adolescents and adults in athletic and academic environments. I do not limit our work to any single modality but blend a variety of techniques to tailor my approach to treatment for each individual. The primary modalities I draw influence from are cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and dynamic psychotherapy.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals and couples. My specialties include alcohol use, anxiety, depression, drug abuse, grief, LGBTQIA+ issues, marital/pre-marital counseling, men's issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), relationship issues, substance use, trauma and PTSD, and panic attacks.
My communication style
I communicate with empathy and directness, blending techniques to suit your needs. Expect an engaged, collaborative approach as we work together to help you gain insight and reach your goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I pursued a few paths in life before my career in mental health. I studied Modern Literature at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I worked for years as a math, science, and SAT tutor. I trained for and competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments.
My goals for you
Every client has unique needs that call for a customized perspective. My goal is to tailor my approach to help you achieve better relationships, manage anxiety, reduce depression, gain more control over your life, and reach the outcomes you are seeking.
