Kristine DeWitt is a licensed marriage and family therapist. Kristine works with adults through a person-centered approach to help reduce things like stress, anxiety, and depression.
My approach
In her practice, Kristine uses a warm and casual approach to teach CBT, DBT, and other mindfulness-based skills to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other life problems.
My focus
Kristine works primarily with adults 18-60 years old experiencing mild to moderate symptoms and life difficulties. Kristine is experienced in integrating Christian faith and principles when appropriate for those who would like to use their spirituality in therapy.
My communication style
Past clients have described Kristine as warm, welcoming, and casual. Kristine's sessions are conversational and at times instructive when needed. She uses humor and storytelling when appropriate.
My journey to mental healthcare
Kristine felt the call to be a therapist after seeing how positive transformation can take place when seeking help from a professional. Kristine was excited by the idea of being able to come alongside others to help facilitate hope and healing. She sees this work as a privilege and honor to help people in need change.
My goals for you
Kristine understands that not all life problems will be solved in brief therapy and so it is important to assist clients in identifying 2-3 symptoms they would like to learn to manage.
My first session with you
During the first session, Kristine will aim to learn relevant history and current symptoms. The client will have an opportunity to ask questions about Kristine and her experience. Together they will identify 1-3 goals for treatment.
