My experience includes working with cases involving trauma, childhood abuse, domestic violence, mood disorder, family conflict, depression, and anxiety. I have worked with both men and women who face the challenges that come with infertility, loss, pregnancy, and the postpartum year. I gained tremendous exposure to crisis intervention and worked as a member of a crisis intervention team. These experiences have cultivated my ability to remain calm and objective during periods of extreme stress for individuals and their families. I thrive when I am able to help clients and their families process emotions and learn coping skills to deal with everyday stressors and decrease symptoms. With the necessary tools and skills, it is easier to identify triggers, notice warning signs, and find ways to better prepare for oncoming stressors and challenges. I have training in CBT, DBT, SFT, and Trauma Informed that have been proven to be effective that prioritizing a client's individual experience and the client/therapist.

My communication style

My therapeutic style is direct but supportive. I have a down-to-earth nature, sense of humor, and a personable demeanor. I possess a tremendous amount of patience, trustworthiness, ethics, communication skills, and the utmost respect for patient confidentiality. I believe that each person has their own story that has shaped what they are currently experiencing.

My journey to mental healthcare

When I was in high school a friend invited me to join her at a local social service agency for a tour during the summer for a possible job. I loved the work, and it's where I met a therapist for the first time. She was our advisor and impressed me. When I got to college I majored in Social Work with a minor in Psychology. Four years later, I started my Master's In Counseling program, which led me to being an LMFT. During my time in school, I worked as a social worker with Child Welfare Services for eleven years. After receiving my license I worked as Behavioral Health Clinician in the ER and inpatient setting in the mental health realm for three years. Throughout my journey, I discovered my passion is helping individuals rebuild their lives and relationships by overcoming struggles in life.

My goals for you

Through my work, I strive to foster a safe and comfortable space where clients can tell their stories, unravel, unpack, and, gain insight into how that has impacted them, and create a new reality that is more fulfilling. To accomplish meaningful change, I take a collaborative approach with the intention to discover strengths and instill hope and healing. Ultimately, my goal is to assist clients with achieving personal growth and increased happiness.

My first session with you

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation upon all of my work is built upon. My empathy and warmth help to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can process and heal. I work with clients to address their specific needs and identified goals. Each client is a unique individual and benefits from a tailored approach that best fits their needs and goals.
