Hello, my name is Rupal Doshi Wilcox. I am a practicing Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, whose career spans working with multiple private and public health organizations and hospitals. I am specialized in Mindfulness Based Therapies such as MBSR, MSC, and MBCT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Level one and two Gottman Couples Therapy, and Feedback Informed Therapy.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is strengths-based and client-centered. I believe in helping my clients identify their strengths, to be able to build on them so that they can find solutions and take control back of their lives. Together we will work on building resilience by restructuring thoughts, emotions, and behaviors based on my clients' goals and how they want to achieve those goals.
My focus
My area of expertise includes working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, family problems, grief, self-esteem/confidence, adult life transitions, relationship problems, anger/stress management, and ADHD, to note a few areas of client focus.
My communication style
I am passionate about making life better for people by engaging my clients in a compassionate and nonjudgmental approach. Together we will reshape thoughts, emotions, behaviors and create experiences in life to help them find their balance and center.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because I saw a lot of suffering in the world and wanted to do my part in helping alleviate it. What drives me to continue is to see the healing that happens in therapy when my clients are committed to their wellness.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting by exploring their purpose for coming to therapy and what means and method they want to achieve their goals.
