Hello, my name is Rosemary Martinez and I'm a licensed professional counselor in Arizona. I specialize in helping people work through and heal from past trauma that has impacted their daily lives. I use modalities such as CBT, EMDR, and DBT to reprocess and heal the entire person. I hope to have the opportunity to help you.
My approach
I try to get the whole picture of the person I'm working with. I don't just want to know the trauma I want to understand how it is impacting your daily living and how we can work together to improve that. I use modalities such as CBT, EMDR, and DBT among others, to treat the person, not the diagnosis.
My focus
I am comfortable working with any age and diagnosis but I specialize in working with adults in a transition (divorce, marriage, parenthood, career change, etc) who have experienced trauma.
My communication style
I base the environment on what the person needs. In some cases I may be a coach who encourages and cheers on progress, in others I may be a manager who points out opportunities for growth. People need different things at different stages of healing and I am adept and meeting those needs.
My journey to mental healthcare
I strongly believe no one is "too broken". Mental health has been stigmatized to the point where people forsake their health for an image and that saddens me. I try to be a bridge, help people heal in ways that can be loud and expressive as well as ways that can be quiet and easily hidden. This healing journey is yours, I'm just guiding you through it.
My goals for you
I set both realistic long and short-term goals with people. I think it's important to have a long-term goal to decide on a direction, and a short-term goal to drive cadence.

A conversation. This doesn't have to be dramatic and secret sharing. We have a conversation on what you need and how I can help you achieve that goal.
