Hello, I am Dr. Sharon. I have 35 years of experience in helping people live happier lives. I would like to help you reach your goals in life. I can help reduce your anxiety and depression, improve your relationships, or change careers. Let's get started!
My approach
Each person is a unique individual. I take a thorough history and then let the client lead me to where we need to go. I use cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapy as my major tools. Christian counseling is also available.
My focus
I work with people who have anxiety disorders, depression, relationship problems, ADHD, insomnia, job stressors, career changes, divorce, veterans, military, and Christians. I do not see patient's with severe trauma (sexual abuse, rape, multiple car accidents , ongoing court cases, or those who are having suicidal thoughts or hearing voices. I also am not currently seeing couples.
My communication style
In my first session, I ask a lot of questions about you to get a good history. After that, I listen and let you lead the way with what you want to discuss, what goals you have, and how you want to get there. I can be directive if you need that.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to be a psychologist when I was 15 years old because everyone around me told me their problems. I realized that it was "my calling."
My goals for you
By the 2nd session, we will set your treatment goals together and come up with a treatment plan.
My first session with you
I will ask you a lot of questions. But if you just need to vent, that is ok, too.
