Hi there, I'm Angela!

My name is Angela Day and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Subiaco, Arkansas, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents, adults, and families and specialize in trauma, crisis, addiction, and family issues using a variety of therapeutic techniques to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.

My approach

I believe that therapy is most effective when the individual is involved in their own treatment. My approach is client-driven and pulls techniques from theories such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Behavioral therapies. This allows me and the client to build a shared understanding of their reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward.

My focus

I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for those who may be dealing with the challenges of trauma life transitions and social pressures. This can often take the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and changes in personality. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.

My communication style

My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.

My journey to mental healthcare

I started my journey of social work in 1999 helping those struggling with addictions. I knew I wanted to be a therapist when I started my undergraduate degree in Social Work. I worked in the addictions field off and on over the next 20 years. After undergrad in 2005 I began working in the child welfare system. I completed my graduate degree with a focus on marriage and family in 2008. In 2011 I worked as a medical social worker with persons requiring long-term care as a care coordinator and in 2017 received my degree in Advanced Rehabilitation. In 2021 I started my internship toward clinical licensure working with homeless youth and families towards reunification when feasible. I also worked with adults as a crisis counselor at a community crisis center. I have always naturally been drawn to helping people through difficult times. I enjoy seeing individuals become the best versions of themselves.,

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting with clients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often starts by building trust between us and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we’ll work together to set goals and track your progress.

My first session with you

What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about how you’ve been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Each individual is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
