I am Nadia Jenkins, MS, LPC, a licensed professional counselor in both states of Alabama and Florida, dedicated to helping clients navigate various mental health challenges. My approach to therapy is client-centered, focusing on building a supportive and empathetic relationship to facilitate personal growth and healing. I provide counseling in areas such as grief, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, providing a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions.
My approach
I utilize a multi-systemic approach to therapy, recognizing that individuals do not exist in isolation but are influenced by a variety of interconnected systems, including family, cognitive, and integrative structures. This theoretical framework allows me to consider the complexities of each client’s life, understanding that challenges often arise from multiple sources and are best addressed through a comprehensive, holistic strategy. By integrating various therapeutic techniques and collaborating with other support systems, I aim to create a tailored treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each client, fostering resilience and positive change across all areas of their life.
My focus
I typically work with clients via Telehealth and in-person. I am open to either depending on the client and location. I work with people who are ready to put in the work but not sure where to start.
My communication style
I try to create a safe, respectful, and expressive environment for all my clients. I hope that working with me will allow you to feel open, safe, and honest.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a counselor to help others. Life is hard to be alone. My hope is that I can assist someone in seeking the change they need to move forward in life.
My goals for you
I encourage all my clients to set goals however, goal setting is left to the client so that he/ she is encouraged to participate in their own change and growth.
My first session with you
A first session would be understanding what counseling is, setting appropriate boundaries for the counseling/ client relationship, information gathering, and goal setting.
