My name is Christina Webb, LPC, NCC. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Alabama. Among the issues I address in therapy are anxiety, depression, relationship issues, communication, stress, life transitions, and grief.
My approach
I am eclectic and pull from a variety of theoretical approaches. I utilize CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples. I believe in a multi-faceted approach that includes tackling dysfunctional thinking, teaching healthy coping skills, addressing sources of distress, understanding each unique situation, and identifying possible solutions. As a therapist, I do not tell you what to do. I strive to empower you to make the best possible decisions.
My focus
I have over 10 years of experience working with teens and adults of all ages in individual, couples, and family therapy.
My communication style
I create a safe and warm environment with my clients. As a therapist, I do not tell my clients what to do. I strive to empower them to make the best possible decisions.
My journey to mental healthcare
When I was 14 years old I was approached by an upper classmate in the girl's restroom who told me she wanted to kill herself because she had asked out a guy she liked only to have him make fun of her and embarrass her in front of other people. I had no clue what to do. My response to her when she told me she wanted to kill herself was "Well, let's not do that, okay?" I realized at that moment that I wanted to learn how to handle situations like this in the future and I wanted to be able to help people who were hurting.
My goals for you
My goal is to help each individual or couple become more effective at dealing with and developing coping skills so they can better manage their own unique life situation. Each person is unique; therefore, we will work together to craft a specific plan designed for your needs.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will discuss your history and what is currently going on in your life. We will identify current issues that you are seeking help for and we will discuss what your goals are for therapy.
